From the movie Fight Club, a little matter of fact:

"Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our great war is a spiritual war. Our great depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars, but we won't. We're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off."

Obama: The Goldman & Sachs President

When will the other former Obama supporters like me wake up? We were hoodwinked. Don't believe me? Check out how well Wall Street is doing while main street keeps sinking deeper into this depression. "New York City's four largest investment firms -- Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley -- earned $22.5 billion in the first nine months of 2009. Wall Street's earnings, should they remain steady for the rest of the year, could lead some firms to eclipse 2007's record profits." I guess Goldman & Sachs got their money's worth when they bought their new president.

Biden Cold Open

Some people were upset after watching this SNL skit. The denial about what a disappointment Obama has been is very ugly to watch. Especially to those that helped him get elected. Bashing Obama? It's called criticism. It's ironic that so many of us campaign and voted for him partly because he was "black". Now, because of very well publicized "tea bagging" racist, his race has become a barrier to honest appraisement. Personally, after reading his auto-biography and what he has done to this point I don't truly consider him black. MLK, my greatest hero, he is not. Not even close. Not that every black person is a MLK but I can't imagine he truly knows what is like to live under the yoke of the ruling class. I'm done with the audacity of hope and hoping for audacity. He is not a community organizer turned nation leader but the bought and paid for president of Goldman & Sachs. Don't be bamboozled. SNL, part of corporate media got it right. For a change. Obama tried? That must be the assertion of someone who has done even less than he has or one that loves delusion especially in the face of possible disappointment. He gave a few empty speeches. He's the good cop and the republicans are the bad cops. We the people are the stupid perp. being coned. Boy, are we screwed.
