Time for a progressive second wind.

Comenting on A Message to Obama's Progressive Critics, an op-ed piece posted by Steve Hildebrand on behalf of the Obama Administration on The Huffington Post.

In the eighties there was a commercial that said "where's the beef?". Now America says: where's the change? Now this fool tells us in condescending matter to shut up and let the same cast of characters, some of them directly responsible for getting us in this mess, take us to the promise land. He says that (our current problems) "suggest that our president surround himself with the most qualified people". I guess he means that us progressives are not competent.

He writes: "This is not a time for the left wing of our Party to draw conclusions about the Cabinet and White House appointments that President-Elect Obama is making" I suppose we are also too stupid to draw our own concussions. This is kind of saying: Who do you believe, me or your own lying eyes.

He continues with: "he was elected to be the president of all the people - not just those on the left." WRONG. It was to a large extent the so called "left" whom gave him hard earned money, volunteered and got him elected.

There was a lot of debate whether these appointments "were cover for him to channel FDR". I guess the cover has been blown. This could be the greatest bamboozle in our recent history. The last one involved imagined weapon of mass destruction. Interesting enough that lie was fronted by another black man: Collin Powell. Something of a trend in today's society. Can you say Condazzleza? How about the current crop of over-represented African American republican pundits appearing on corporate media. I can just see poor Martin Luther King Jr. rolling in his grave. This is specially effective with us progressives. Most of us will get over that soon enough. There is too much at stake.

I contributed at great expense to Barrack Obama's campaign. Including when he was fighting against Hillary Clinton because like a lot of us I surmised she did not represent real change. The Clinton's gave us NAFTA, secret wiretapping (before Bush), corporate media consolidation, ect. They are Republicans light.

Mr. Obama: If you think you can get away with this, you got another thing coming. Vilified progressives, liberal, left wingers or whatever you want to call us will get our second wind. We were warning against "greed economics", protesting against this criminal war in Iraq and sacrificing a lot to lead us in the right direction. History has proven us right. Now these pretenders want to tell us to shut up and go away and let them screw us up even more. It is obvious that we need, dare I say, drastic changes.

Progressives will not go away. We will make this administration's life a living hell unless they deliver on that change we asked for. They might think this is already The United Corporations of America but it is WE the people that make up The United States of America.

We need real change and even more importantly we need accountability. Maybe that is the Machiavellian plan. We will be too busy just forcing Mr. Obama into getting what he promised and while distracted all these criminals will get away with murder again so that they can come back in a few years and screw us all up all over again. Like Iran-Contra, stolen 2000 elections, WMD's, Abu Ghraib, Katrina and on and on... Are we going to abide with more BS?
